About Dakota REV Soccer Club

DAKOTA REV SOCCER CLUB is a community-based, traveling soccer program open to all residents of District #196 and the surrounding communities within Dakota County.  "REV" is an acronym for Rosemount, Eagan, Apple Valley.

Dakota REV provides a highly-competitive soccer opportunity for all levels of play — from the novice on up to the advanced “Premier” level.  The club offers year-round league and tournament play in addition to off-season training opportunities in partnership with the Irish Sports Dome in Rosemount.

Dakota REV is affiliated with the Minnesota Youth Soccer Association [MYSA], Rosemount Area Athletic Association [RAAA], and Eastview Athletic Association [EVAA.]  Therefore, we endorse tobacco, alcohol and drug-free events.

PLAYER AND PARENT EXPECTATIONS

Participation in Dakota REV Soccer Club involves a commitment of time, money and energy by the player and their parent(s.)  For more information on expectations, please refer to the Membership Agreement.

Expenses:  In addition to the seasonal registration fee, other player costs will likely include:  a full uniform and/or uniform extras (on a two-year rotation), tournament entry fees, coaching fees, indoor practice facility fees, optional off-season training programs, and other miscellaneous expenses that may incur throughout the season, examples:
  • As a team, the parents may decide to have hire a paid coach. The cost will vary depending on the individual chosen for the role and his/her experience.  An estimate per player is $75.00 – $200.00 per season.
  • As a team, the parents, Team Manager or Coach may decide to have some pre-season practices at an indoor facility.  The cost will vary depending on the facility.  An estimate per player is $20.00 – $50.00 per season.
  • As a team, the Parents, Team Manger or Coach may decide to participate in a tournaments.  Tournaments can be local or out of state requiring additional expenses. An estimate per player is $70.00- $150.00.  (Not including hotels and meals.  The team members may be expected to pay the lodging expenses for the coach.)
  • Miscellaneous expenses to cover the managing cost of a team.  An estimate per player is $10.00-$15.00.
Tournament Volunteers:  All Dakota REV teams participate in the club's annual Dakota REV-It-Up Tournament held the first two weekends in May.  The cost of each player's tournament participation is included in the Summer registration fee.  In addition to members participating in the REV-It-Up Tournament, parents [and teens] are required to volunteer for at least one volunteer shift over the duration of the two-weekend tournament.  REV-It-Up is one of the largest tournaments in the state, and each year we strive to make it a memorable experience for all participating teams.

MYSA BIRTHYEAR GUIDELINES

Playing age for the Summer season is based on the player's age on July 31st of the current year.   Playing age for the Fall season is based on the player's age on July 31st of the following year.

The age level at which a player may participate is in accordance with the rules set by the Minnesota Youth Soccer Association (MYSA.)  In order to be eligible for a particular level, a player's age must be in accordance with the following:

  • U09 - must be 09 or less on July 31 of the current soccer season
  • U10 - must be 10 or less on July 31 of the current soccer season
  • U11 - must be 11 or less on July 31 of the current soccer season
  • U12 - must be 12 or less on July 31 of the current soccer season
  • U13 - must be 13 or less on July 31 of the current soccer season
  • U14 - must be 14 or less on July 31 of the current soccer season
  • U15 - must be 15 or less on July 31 of the current soccer season
Players will be encouraged to play at their MYSA age level.  However, they may elect to try out at their current grade level provided that it is higher than the age level defined by MYSA. In order for the club to accommodate as many players as possible, players are occasionally rostered on older-aged teams.
