As a first year or low-experience ref, I recommend that you also sign up with the community soccer programs to gain additional experience.
Rosemount Area Athletic Association (RAAA) has a late summer program that runs from about mid July through August. Assignments are done manually and e-mailed to the refs. Referee signup is usually late May and early June. Email the assignor, Grace Whiteford, email@example.com for more information about signing up for RAAA.
Eastview Athletic Association (EVAA) has spring and fall seasons. Assignments are done using the RefCoord, www.RefCoord.com. You need to set up an account and then join the Eastview In-House Soccer program.
Tournaments: During the summer and fall seasons, there are tournaments almost every weekend. The MN Youth Soccer website has a listing of tournaments. Each tournament has their own signup procedures and deadlines. Tournaments can be fun, a great experience, and opportunity to meet other refs. The link to the MYSA tournament is: www.mnyouthsoccer.org/page/show/669185-tournament-center
Other Clubs: There are several other clubs that need refs. I encourage you to also ref for other clubs to pick up additionally experience. The only request that I have is that you do not turn back games because you have been received a better assignment from another club. Turning back games to ref for other clubs may result in removal from future assignments.
